The “Mount Zion Victory Empowerment Foundation” (MZVEF) is a non-profit organisation dedicated to support families who are bereaved in the UK, our mission is to focus on African community in the UK living in the Royal Borough of Greenwich and neighboring Boroughs within London.
Our foundation will offer support directly to bereaved families and indirectly by fostering understanding and good practice amongst professionals concerned with the death and by increasing public awareness, especially where religious and cultural issues are causing a major challenge.
We recognise that people, who have experienced the loss of a loved one, often find it easy to share their experiences and wish to extend their hand of friendship hence the introduction of our peer support service as part of this project.
Our aim is to seek further improvement in the quality of support and care offered to bereaved families from African communities, especially in cases where there are issues of cultural values which require great sensitivity and communication.
