Our aim at Mount Zion Victory Empowerment Foundation is to seek further improvement in the quality of support and care offered to bereaved families within the African communities, especially in sensitive cases where their culture surrounding the event needs to be handled properly.
Part of the project we do is to provide:
1. Emotional and practical support to families who are bereaved
2. Provide appropriate information on aspects of dealing with the loss
3. Give support to those recovering from the loss of a loved one and offer them information, advice and support that would possibly prepare them for the changes they will have to make and support them through the often difficulty and psychological impact associated with the loss.
4. Provide needs-led emotional and practical assistance including counselling where appropriate.
5. Telephone helpline support
As part of being there for anyone or family dealing with the loss, regular contacts will be established and maintained with beneficiaries, including monthly phone calls and follow-up visits.
